This weekend class is the perfect progression route, also suitable for complete beginners. You’ll be introduced to the essential tools and processes used in screen printing onto fabric. You’ll prepare your own artwork to expose on screen, combine with cut paper stencils, you’ll develop a series of personal artworks on cloth. Working with water based textile inks you’ll learn how to mix your own colour palette and experiment with layering transparent & opaque colour. All materials included.

A fabulous day workshop covering the essential dressmaking techniques required when garment making. You will create a folder of calico samplers in constuction techniques which include a range of seams, darts, pleats, various zips and pockets. Along with the folder of techniques you will also have a manual to take away. This course is for those with a little dressmaking/sewing machine experience. All materials are provided. Sewing machines are provided but students are welcome to bring their own.

Textile artist Annette leads you throughout this weekend class. Working with repurposed textiles you’ll explore the ‘foreshore’ - where land meets the sea. You’ll learn how to make patterns, textures and marks on recycled cloth using a gelli plate. Selecting, cutting and arranging fabrics to develop your landscape. You’ll add sheers like muslin, organza, voile and tulle; mixing those with your textured gelli printed fabrics. Finalising details and surface textures with a variety of slow hand.
